VOYAGE IN THE UNIVERSE

The fascination of the starry sky and the periodicity of its main events have stimulated, since the early history of mankind, the observation and the study of the stars, for propitiatory purposes at first, for navigation and agriculture later.
But the real Voyage began when observation received the help of instruments which brought us far into the depth of the Universe and back in time towards the comprehension of our origins.
We are now able to study the formation and evolution of the stars, to investigate the mysteries of quasars and black holes, and even to trace the history of the Universe beginning from a few seconds after its formation.
Besides, the new computerized instruments available today allow everybody to follow the research work done by astronomers.
But this voyage is far from beeing completed, because each new discovery leads to new complex questions, and the magnificence of the Universe that surrounds us fills the mind with astonishment, now as well as at the dawning of mankind.
So the Voyage continues... shall we be alone, or shall we find company in this adventure?
